I have the following guest OSs and they all behave the same way: Windows XP SP3, Ubuntu 10.03, SUSE 10.2, SUSE 11.2, Debian 5. I'll try reverting this weekend to see if I can reproduce the problem on 4GB of RAM.Īll my VMs are configured with 512MB of RAM.

I've run multiple hardware tests to make sure the new RAM is OK and I haven't found any problems. This only happened after I upgraded to 8GB of RAM (4GB previously). If I don't try to start a VM my laptop doesn't crash and performs well. If I start any other applications or wait for more than ~15 minutes, none of my VMs will start and I get the message 'Too many virtual machines.' Once this happens, I get a kernel panic shortly after. I can only start a VM if it is the first thing I do after I log in. I recently upgraded to 8GB of RAM and I now have many issues with VMWare Fusion. Any help or suggestions on things to try to resolve the following problem would be greatly appreciated.
